Black Girl Finding Joy
ReIntroduction
Hi readers,
I would like to reintroduce myself! I started this blog 60 days shy of my 25th birthday. As I am currently 11 months away from my 30th birthday, I decided that it was time to return to the blog. Reading through and reflecting on my past blog posts was very hard. I was clearly in such a bad mental space, was dreading my 25th year, and was in desperate need of therapy.
Black Girl in Crisis was a hard and important part of my life. It was a very raw and vulnerable space, and the few blog posts that I had really started my journey to healing and feeling more whole. In year 2025, I feel miles away from the person that started this blog. I am appreciative of the space that I created but, it is time to retire the name!
I am now rebranding as Black Girl Finding Joy. In the preparation for year 30, I want to focus on joy. Joy as I continue to find myself and transform into the grown woman that I aspire to be. Joy as I continue on my journey to find love in all its forms. And finally, joy as I continue on my journey to heal childhood trauma, wounds, and familial bonds.
I hope you all will follow me on my journey to joy!
“I realized that I don’t have to be perfect. All I have to do is show up and enjoy the messy, imperfect, and beautiful journey of my life.”—Kerry Washington
